I am your Head of Year 7.
I have worked at Marine Academy for 5 years.
I went to Cardiff Metropolitan University to study Sport and Physical Education.
My passions are playing sport such as Netball and Hockey. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends.
My favourite food is Thai, I love cooking and trying new recipes.
I am really excited about being your Head of Year and welcoming you all. We will become the best year group in the school!
I am your Assistant Head of Year 7.
I have worked at Marine Academy for a year now.
I went to Plymouth University to study English Literature.
My passions are theatre and walking my dog. I love going on long walks in the countryside.
My favourite food is Spanish tapas and having a BBQ – especially on the beach.
I can’t wait to help you settle into life at Marine Academy and hearing about all the new and exciting things that you will be doing such as joining new clubs and making new friends!
I teach Maths.
I have worked at Marine Academy for 2 years.
I went to Plymouth University to study Mathematics and Computing.
My passion is the outdoors. I love cycling, football and going to the beach.
My favourite food is nachos, fajitas and anything spicy (and chocolate, obviously).
I am most excited about meeting all of the new Year 7 students, getting to know you all and making our tutor group the best!
I teach A-Level Biology and GCSE Science.
I have worked at Marine academy for 1 year.
I went to The University of Nottingham and studied Zoology.
My passions are animals and the great outdoors. My favourite animals are orang-utans and I love taking long walks at the weekends.
I have too many favourite foods to list here. I love cooking veggie dishes!
What am I most excited about becoming a year 7 tutor is helping my tutees to feel happy and welcome at MAP and to foster a passion for learning new things (especially about Biology)!
I teach history.
I have worked at Marine Academy for 6 years.
I studied Ancient History with Archaeology at the University of Exeter.
I enjoy travelling, exploring and adventuring. I like to learn about new cultures and places.
My favourite food is pizza and lots of fresh salad. I enjoy baking cakes.
I am looking forward to becoming a year 7 tutor to welcome new students to the school and support them to have the best start at secondary school.
I teach English.
I have worked at Marine Academy for 15 years.
I went to Plymouth Marjon University to study English Literature & Media Studies.
I enjoy spending time with my family, especially my new grandson, Henry. We also like lots of walks on the beach and in the woods with Pippa the pug!
My favourite food is anything I don’t have to cook myself!
What I am most looking forward to about becoming a year 7 tutor is getting to know all of you and making sure you have a happy and successful start at Marine Academy Plymouth.
I teach Geography
This is my first year at Marine Academy.
I went to Keele University to study Environment and Sustainability
My passion is traveling. I love to go to new places and learn about what life is like there.
My favourite food changes a lot. I like to try making new and exciting dishes.
I am really excited to become a year 7 tutor. I look forward to meeting you all and learning more about you!
I teach History.
I have worked at Marine academy for 1 year.
I went to the University of the West of England in Bristol to study History.
I love learning new things, reading, going on long walks – especially near the sea!
My favourite food is chocolate – I have a very sweet tooth!
What am I most excited about becoming a year 7 tutor is getting to know you and helping you to get to know each other to you to settle into MAP.
I teach French and Spanish.
I have worked at Marine Academy for 1 year.
I went to the University of Southampton to study Modern Languages.
I love languages, I can speak 3 foreign languages including German, I even lived and worked in Germany for about a year.
My favourite type of food is Italian, I love pizza and pasta but I’m willing to try foods from lots of different countries.
What am I most excited about becoming a Year 7 tutor is showing students how great our school is and helping them progress throughout the year.
