Mrs Siobhan Meredith, Headteacher
Mrs Meredith is the Headteacher, Designated Safeguarding Lead and Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCo) at Marine Academy Primary. Mrs Meredith joined the Academy when it opened in September 2013 where she deputised in the Executive Headteacher's absence before becoming Headteacher in April 2015. Prior to being at Marine Academy Primary, Mrs Meredith completed the National Award for SEN Coordination with Plymouth University and worked as an Assistant Headteacher in Cornwall. Mrs Meredith is also a Plymouth Local Leader in Education with the Plymouth Teaching School Alliance (PTSA).
Mrs. Claire Jones, Assistant Headteacher: EYFS and SEN Leader
Mrs. Jones is an experienced Reception teacher, with excellent Early Years’ experience. Before joining Marine Academy Primary, Mrs. Jones was the Reception Team Leader at Torpoint Nursery and Infant School in Cornwall. Mrs. Jones is one of our Reception Class Teachers, the Assistant Headteacher deputising in Mrs Meredith’s absence and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. Mrs Jones is also a Primary Leader in Education with the Plymouth Teaching School Alliance (PTSA).
Miss Alex Beamont, Performing Arts Leader
Miss Beamont is the Academy’s Creative Arts Coordinator. As a qualified teacher and music instructor, she is responsible for Art, singing, Music and celebration events. Miss Beamont is the specialist music teacher for all of the classes in the Primary and leads the weekly Singing Assemblies. Miss Beamont was also recently successful in her application to be a Primary Leader in Education with the Plymouth Teaching School Alliance (PTSA).
Miss Carlotta Barker, Shadow Maths Leader
Miss Barker has recently graduated as a teacher from Plymouth University with a PGCE degree in Primary Education specialising in Mathematics. Miss Barker originally worked with us as a Teaching Assistant prior to completing her School Direct training with us. Miss Barker is one of our Year 2 Class Teachers and Shadow Maths Leader.
Miss Julianne Wickenden, Nursery Teacher
Miss Wickenden is the Nursery Teacher and is responsible for the Academy Council which meets monthly and arranges lots of various fundraising events but also has a say about ways to make the Academy even better.
Miss Gemma Stephens, Reception Class Teacher
Miss Stephens is a new member of our team and is one of the Reception Class Teachers. Miss Stephens has a fantastic knowledge of the Early Years following completing degrees in Early Childhood Studies and a PGCE in Early Years.
Miss Beth Ridge, Year 1 Class Teacher
Miss Ridge worked at Keyham Barton Primary School as a Teaching Assistant before joining us at Marine Academy Primary as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for in September 2013. She was successful in gaining a School Direct Trainee Teacher place with Plymouth University and qualified as a teacher in July 2015. Miss Ridge is one of our Year 1 Class Teachers.
Miss Michelle Russell, Year 1 Class Teacher
Miss Russell has recently graduated as a teacher from Plymouth University with a degree in Primary Education specialising in Early Childhood Studies. Miss Russell completed her second year teaching placement with us at Marine Academy Primary and has volunteered ever since. Miss Russell is one of our Year 1 Class Teachers.
Mr Andy Ferry, Year 2 Class Teacher
Mr Ferry joined the Academy in November 2015 and taught classes across the Primary. Mr Ferry is now one of our Year 2 Class Teachers.
Miss Stacey Mitchell, Literacy and Curriculum Leader
Miss Mitchell joined the Academy in September 2014 and is now one of our Year 2 Class Teachers. Miss Mitchell is our Outdoor Learning Lead Teacher and also leads the curriculum alongside Miss Easton.
Miss Isabel Charles, Year 3 Class Teacher
Miss Charles is one of our Year 3 Class Teachers and leads RE at the Academy.
Mr. Liam Gallagher, Key Stage Two and Computing Leader
Mr. Gallagher is one of our Year 4 teachers, leads Computing across the Primary, is the Key Stage Two Unit Leader and NQT Mentor.
Miss Sian Elvins, Year 4 Class Teacher
Miss Elvins is our newest teaching member of the Marine Academy Primary team and is one of our Year 4 Class Teachers.
Miss Georgina Brunning, Intervention Teacher and PPA Cover Teacher
Miss Brunning is a Science specialist who delivers interventions and covers PPA across the school. Miss Brunning also teaches Phonics and Literacy to children from Years 3 and 4.
Miss Annette Codner, Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Miss Codner is a qualified teacher employed as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) leading the Playworkers, Breakfast Club and After School Club Assistants. Miss Codner supports the learning in 1BR and is also our PE Coordinator here at the Academy
Mrs. Fiona Tudor, Operational Support Team Leader
Mrs. Tudor works in the office Monday to Thursday; she used to work in Marine Academy Plymouth and is also responsible for the Marine Academy Nursery admin.
Mrs. Jackie Dewey, Primary Administrator
Mrs. Dewey works as part of the Primary Administration Team.
Miss Kylie Rio, Primary Administrator
Miss. Rio works in the office on Fridays, she is currently studying towards a degree in Speech and Language Therapy.
Miss Stephanie Couch, Class RGS Teaching Assistant
Miss Couch is the Teaching Assistant in Class RGS and regularly leads Phonics and Maths sessions and interventions across the Reception classes.
Mrs. Leah Fahy, Class RGS Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Fahy is the Teaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning across the Reception Classes. Mrs Fahy regularly leads Phonics and Maths sessions and interventions in Reception. Mrs. Fahy also supports learning every morning in our Breakfast Club.
Miss Jodie Warburton, Teaching Assistant
Miss Warburton is a Teaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning in Class 2SM and regularly leads Phonics sessions and interventions across Year 2. Miss Warburton has recently graduated from Plymouth University with a degree in Early Childhood Studies.
Miss Chrissie Watson, Teaching Assistant
Miss Watson is a Teaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning in Class 2AW and regularly leads Phonics sessions and interventions across Year 2. Miss Watson is a very experienced Teaching Assistant with a degree in Drama and has worked for many years at Victoria Road Primary School prior to joining us at Marine Academy Primary.
Mr. Ashley Vernon, Teaching Assistant
Mr Vernon is a Teaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning in Class 3IC and regularly leads Phonics sessions. Mr Vernon also supports learning during the After School Club three evenings each week.
Mrs. Cassie Bromilow, Teaching Assistant
Mrs. Bromilow is a Teaching Assistant supporting teaching and learning in Class 4LG and regularly leads Phonics sessions. Mrs. Bromilow has worked on the Marine Academy Plymouth Campus for many years in the Library and is a fantastic addition to the Primary team.
Mr. Adam Bird, Teaching Assistant, Breakfast Club Assistant and Playworker
Mr. Bird is a Teaching Assistant in Class 2SM and has successfully secured a place on the BEd Primary programme at Plymouth University for September 2016. Mr Bird also supports learning during lunchtimes as a Playworker and during Breakfast Club.
Mr. Andrew Boxley, Teaching Assistant, Breakfast Club Assistant and Playworker
Mr Boxley is a Teaching Assistant supporting learning across Years 3 and 4 and has successfully secured a place on the BEd Primary programme at Plymouth University for September 2016. Mr Boxley also supports learning during lunchtimes as a Playworker and during Breakfast Club.
Mr. Adam Tideswell, Outdoor Learning Assistant
Mr. Tideswell is our Outdoor Learning Assistant supporting learning in the Outdoor Environment at Marine Academy Primary. Mr Tideswell helps to maintain our Outdoor Areas and also supports the children to plant and grow their own vegetables which they will be able to cook and eat. Mr Tideswell volunteered at Outdoor Learning Club throughout the last academic year and continues to support extra-curricular activities this year.
Miss Louise Vickers, 1:1 Teaching Assistant, Playworker and After School Club Assistant
Miss Vickers is a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Class RCJ each morning and she also supports learning during lunchtimes as a Playworker and during After School Club.
Miss Amy Underwood, 1:1 Teaching Assistant and Playworker
Miss Underwood is a 1:1 Teaching Assistant in Class RCJ each afternoon and she also supports learning during lunchtimes as a Playworker.
