Clinical Psycology

About us

The Clinical Psychology team at MAP aims to support the well-being of staff, students and the wider community. We offer:

  • 1:1 or group therapy for both staff and students, via a referral process
  • Consultation sessions for staff
  • Quick, informal chats with staff to offer support, advice or signposting

We are based in the Multi-Agency Room at MAP, so please feel free to pop in, say hello and find out more about what we do. You can also email us if that’s easier. Each team member’s availability is listed below.

Who we are

The team also comprises trainee clinical psychologists, who are postgraduate students at the University of Plymouth. Trainees work at MAP under Mary’s supervision, on a work placement lasting around nine months. This year's trainees are:

Charlotte Bolt

She is interested in promoting the wellbeing and confidence of staff, students, families and communities in collaborative and creative ways. Charlotte is working to support students within Ready To Learn (RTL) as well as running Emotional Skills groups with the assistance of Ruby!

Charlotte is based at MAP on Mondays.

Alexandra (Allie) Tyler

Allie is a second year trainee clinical psychologist. She works alongside Mary and Charlotte to support everyone at the school with their psychological health, with a focus on the challenges of modern living. At MAP, she will mainly be offering consultations and therapy to staff members. Allie is originally from the North West, and now thoroughly enjoys living her in the South West. She loves animals, particularly dogs, and is currently fostering two tortoises.
